This is a cat/kitten that is sitting in one bucket of cat food and eating out of another. This is a variety of cat foods that are for sale at a street side stand. This cat is just in heaven! It struck gold! The owner is just letting the cat enjoy. It was awesome!
She smiled for the camera.

"Lovers"

We went for another walk today to run some errands and there are couples hanging out in the parks on benches and in the grass everywhere! PDA is a widespread epidemic (ha! just joking - but, these people are romantics!)

We had seen a park the day before with an overlook that we wanted to check out. So we did the climb up many stairs past an amazing fountain that looked like something you'd see in Italy. Past that was what appeared to be an old Spanish fort. The view of Santiago was amazing. The skyline, the Andes to the west, a smaller range of mountains to the east...just spectacular.

Then we went to a department store and Cherith bought a curling iron.  (The electric plugs and voltage is different here.)  Not as exciting as the view of Santiago, but still very entertaining.

Arrived in Chile!

We have arrived in Chile! Yeah! The weather is perfecto! After four tries at ATMs we finally got some cash. Cherith forgot her purse in the shuttle but after a couple calls it was finally found and returned - with nothing missing! We have our own nice little room with a bathroom in the hostel and tonight we are meeting many of the other teachers - there are 72 in total and 10 of them are couples. We had some delicious Empenadas and Chilean fruit! Yum! There is a beutiful park nearby with a library/coffee shop in the middle. I'm excited to check it out.
